What type of construction work is happening?

During the closure, crews are conducting necessary maintenance on retaining walls within the rail corridor to ensure the infrastructure that supports service along the Stouffville line remains safe and reliable.

We thank you for your patience during this disruption.

Planned Service Adjustments

Metrolinx is transforming your line from a commuter service into an all-day, rapid transit network. GO service is expanding to serve you better, with more frequent service, more stations, cleaner technology, and more connections.

With the Stouffville line GO Expansion, we’re bringing you two-way, all-day service to core segments of the network, as well as access to new stations and transit connections on your line. This will mean more trains, more often – from Stouffville to Markham, Scarborough, and Toronto, giving you transit options for doing the things you love, wherever they’re found in the region.

To keep these plans on track, we sometimes work overnight and on weekends, building and updating rail infrastructure, renovating GO stations, building new train platforms and more. Learn more about GO Expansion.

We aim to provide you with plenty of notice when we need to adjust service for construction activity. Please plan your trip in advance.

Work may be adjusted, rescheduled, or extended due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

Ongoing Station Construction

We are always working to improve stations on our network. Find out if there are minor construction projects at your station.
